this is a story of a girl...
Sometimes when you really watch Teresa Kennedy Greene in action you think her life carries this unique snowflake quality. Sure she likes to go out with friends, has a steady job and her parents love her but, her cookie hasn't always crumbled so neatly. Teresa was born in Boston,MA to Richard and Isabella Greene and became sister to Zack on 12/12/1989. Her mom would swear to you up and down had twin boys because anything Zack was doing, Teresa wanted to do. Zack always called her "Kennedy" since he told her it was a boy's name and back then when make believe was real she wanted to be as close as she could be to her brother. That closeness dissipated after adolescence passed and Kennedy had friends she wanted to impress. The distance grew more and more until the point she didn't realize the person that was once her brother. "Kenny", as her friends now called her, was about to graduate high school and Zack was living at home harboring a drug problem she watched unfold but stayed silent. She played the role of the good sister by cleaning up after him and crafting perfect lies for their parents to believe. It was the only connection she had now to him since life got in the way. Soon however the distance between them was about to be widened because a week after her graduation Zack overdosed, and didn't recover. Kenny was the one who found him the following morning and everything changed. People built a wall around her but Kenny wasn't having it. She didn't want to talk about it, she didn't want to remember it. She no longer went by Kenny or Kennedy but Teresa as the prior only were remembrances of Zack. That was almost two years ago and that moment in her life feels like a world away. In private she can be a wreck over the death of her brother but in public, around her friends, she puts on a smile. She moved to Eureka, CA at 18 to live with her lesbian aunt Susan and her girlfriend Katy. Currently she is about to finish her final year at Sierra College for her degree in Applied Art & Design. She works part-time as a customer service manager at the local Walmart in the mornings before class. Right now her focus is school, friends, work and living life if fast forward, not rewind.
